While the New Orleans Saints finished with a 9-8 record last season, it wasn’t enough for playoff contention.
Earlier in the season, it looked like they would easily clinch a postseason berth.
Unfortunately, a losing streak in the middle of their campaign affected their chances for the worst.
But more changes are coming their way as longtime head coach Sean Payton stepped down from his position after 15 seasons.
Taking over from him is former Saints defensive coordinator Dennis Allen.
No one knows yet how Allen’s tenure as the main mentor will pan out.
But there’s also high optimism within the Saints camp because of who they will have in 2022.
They’ve re-signed Jameis Winston to a two-year deal, while Michael Thomas will finally see action after undergoing ankle surgery.
Likewise, their receiving corps got a nice boost through Jarvis Landry‘s acquisition.
The five-time Pro Bowl wideout last played for the Cleveland Browns, finishing with 570 yards and two receiving touchdowns.
Those numbers are a far cry from his career bests of 1,174 yards and nine touchdowns.
However, this video may thrill Saints fans.

Landry showed his acceleration while running a route and caught the football with just one hand.
This highlight should make it to SportsCenter.
But it’s refreshing for Saints fans to see Landry not being bothered by his injury.
If he sustains a clean bill of health, he could end up as a steal for New Orleans.
A Loaded Saints Offense
Aside from Thomas and Landry, the Saints also drafted wide receiver Chris Olave in the 2022 NFL Draft.
He could be a game-changer for the team if he brings his game from Ohio State to The Big Easy.
Do not forget Alvin Kamara, one of the most versatile running backs in the league.
If all of these athletes play on the same page, the Saints might have an unstoppable offense.
