It’s been a while since the New York Knicks were a legit contender in the Eastern Conference.
They haven’t won an NBA championship in five decades, and it seemed like they were closer to a top-10 pick than a top-5 spot more often than not.
That’s why it’s been so great for the fans and the organization to witness their recent turnaround, led by Villanova product Jalen Brunson.
Brunson has made an immediate impact since signing a very lucrative deal in the offseason, leaving the Dallas Mavericks to play side-by-side with Julius Randle.
Notably, Randle has also benefitted from Brunson’s passing and shot-making, going back to his good ways after some worrisome regression last season.
Moreover, the two seem to be getting along just fine off the court as well, as Randle was spotted offering Brunson some wine during the postgame conference in one of the most hilarious moments we’ve seen all season.

Of course, Brunson snubbed Randle and couldn’t help but laugh before going on with his interview.
Those details aren’t as minor as one may think.
Randle was in the eye of the storm throughout the whole year last season.
He got into it with the fans and a member of the coaching staff, and there were rumors about a potential trade.
So, to see him get past all this and embrace his teammates is definitely a positive sign.
A team that gets along can sometimes get further than a more talented squad that doesn’t.
