On Thursday, MLB announced the winners of the MVP awards in both leagues.
In reality, the whole baseball universe knew that Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani was going to be crowned MVP since early August.
He was just so dominant that even without playing for most of September, he was the unanimous MVP in the American League.
Corey Seager and Marcus Semien, both middle infielders for the Texas Rangers, finished second and third, respectively.
The league’s official Twitter feed posted a short video of the moment Ohtani was announced as the winner.
He is sharing a beautiful moment with his dog and even gives it a high five.

The world needs more wholesome moments between Ohtani and his dog.
He is seen with his loyal friend throughout the whole clip, and it’s even dressed up for the occasion.
It’s the second time in his career that Ohtani is crowned as the most valuable player in the American League.
He has been a unanimous winner both times, in 2021 and 2023, and on both occasions, his team didn’t make the playoffs.
As a pitcher, he put up a 3.14 ERA in 132 innings, with 167 strikeouts and a 1.06 WHIP.
As a batter, Ohtani posted an incredible 1.066 OPS, hit 44 home runs, drove in 95 runs, and scored 102.
He is the best and most talented player in baseball, and it might not be close.
When you consider the fact he performs as an ace and as a middle-of-the-order slugger, no one is more valuable than him.
Now, he is free to sign with any team and will likely be a very rich man in a month or two.
