The Houston Astros won the World Series against the Philadelphia Phillies last year, their first title since 2017.
They held a very solid Phillies team to two wins and gave Dusty Baker his first and only Fall Classic trophy.
Baker, with his leadership and baseball knowledge and expertise, was able to calmly guide the Astros into the promised land.
After managing MLB teams since 1993, winning his first World Series 30 years later definitely was a meaningful, powerful moment for the skipper.
Baker, who ended up retiring this year after losing to the Texas Rangers in the AL Championship Series, got to enjoy what it’s like to win it all last year.
You could see he soaked it all in and enjoyed every minute of it.
It must be hard to describe a moment like that: the realization of your lifelong dream summed up in a couple of minutes.
Astros insider Michael Schwab posted a video of that moment, thanking him for his time in front of the team.
“Thinking about the moment that Dusty Baker won his first World Series as a manager. He calmly sat, took a breath, wrote the final out, and was rushed by his team. Thank you Dusty,” he tweeted.
