After an NFL offseason filled with hype and high expectations, the Chicago Bears have come into the 2023 NFL season and proven all of their doubters right, with Justin Fields and company seemingly well on their way to being one of the worst teams in the league yet again.
Even though the team lost 10 straight games to finish the disappointing 2022 campaign, the Bears showed enough promise with Fields leading the way that many believed they’d turn things around in 2023.
The team was confident enough in Fields’ ability to be a star on the rise in the NFL that they chose to trade the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft to the Carolina Panthers, which would’ve given the team an opportunity to start fresh at quarterback with Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, or Anthony Richardson.
Few criticized the team’s choice to make this move as they were able to bring star wide receiver DJ Moore to the Windy City in the deal, but now that trade doesn’t seem like a step in the right direction, and other teams are starting to notice the team’s dysfunction, via Swift Sports Network.

It’s pretty bad when an opposing player calls out the team for not using a player the right way, like Devin White of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers did when talking to Moore on the field.
The real question now is if the Bears will be able to get back on track this season or in the foreseeable future, as Chicago looks like a mess with little hope of being a force to be reckoned with in the NFC in 2023.
