Dillon Brooks of the Houston Rockets has a lot to prove in 2023-24 and it looks like he is ready to do it.
Basketball On X, via NBACentral, posted a video of Brooks on a practice court putting up shots.
He was looking smooth, fast, and comfortable – and he sank a few impressive buckets too.
What does this mean for Brooks’ upcoming season?

When you look at his statistics, you wouldn’t think that Brooks had a bad 2022-23.
Playing with the Memphis Grizzlies, he averaged 14.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.6 assists, which aren’t horrible numbers.
But he got bogged down in nasty headlines, especially when he took aim at LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers – and was then beaten by them in the first round of the playoffs.
Following that, reports leaked that the Grizzlies had no interest in re-signing Brooks.
When he was acquired by the Rockets in the offseason, some people thought he’d have a tough time getting back in the good graces of fans.
He had cemented his status as one of the NBA’s proudest trash-talkers and that had earned him a lot of detractors and critics.
But he silenced them when he represented his home country of Canada in the FIBA Basketball World Cup.
Brooks had multiple strong showings, including a final game against Team USA.
To many, it feels like Brooks is fired up and ready to prove everyone wrong.
He probably won’t stop speaking his mind and making enemies now that he’s with the Rockets.
But he could perform even better and show people that he can talk and play.
