When talking about the Atlanta Braves’ historically good offense this year, many people focus on Ronald Acuña Jr. and his 40-60 season, unprecedented in MLB.
Others shift their focus to Matt Olson and his immense power, or the steadiness of Austin Riley or Sean Murphy.
We tend to forget that in addition to all those names plus Ozzie Albies, Travis d’Arnaud, Marcell Ozuna, and Eddie Rosario, the Braves have the reigning 2022 NL Rookie of the Year in Michael Harris II.
Harris doesn’t have Olson’s power, Acuña’s speed or contact, or Ozuna and Rosario’s experience.
He has some of all worlds, though, making him one of the most complete players in baseball.
MLB Network posted a hype video with some of Harris’ best plays this year, highlighting his power, speed, dynamic baserunning, and difference-making defense in center field.
Michael Harris II is a superstar in the making! 🌟

In 2023, Harris is hitting .289/.327/.472 with 18 home runs, 20 stolen bases, and a .799 OPS.
Consider his excellent defense at the most demanding of the outfield positions and you have, as MLB Network says, a superstar in the making.
The best thing of all is that Harris is already a well-above average player and he is still just 22.
He will be a fixture in the Braves’ lineup and defensive alignment for years to come, and he is already one of the fan favorites.
Like most young players, he can still improve his plate discipline.
If he ever learns how to take more walks (he has 25 for the year, in 133 games) and cut his strikeouts (98 in 2023), the sky is the limit for Harris.
