The San Antonio Spurs didn’t find much success on the court this season.
Then again, this will always be a year to remember for the organization.
Victor Wembanyama just capped off one of the most impressive rookie campaigns of all time, turning this struggling team into must-watch television from start to finish.
So, now that the season is on the books, and after his team didn’t do a lot of winning, the media asked him what he was most proud of after his rookie year.
Wembanyama talked about how proud he was to lead all rookies in most categories and some of the unique stat lines he had (via ClutchPoints and Hector Ledesma).
Reporter: "As much as you always [want to] do more, what are you most proud of this rookie season?"
Victor Wembanyama: “Having the unique stat lines, for example, in wins… And leading rookies in most categories. And leading the league in blocks.”

The reigning No. 1 pick is the clear-cut favorite to run away with Rookie of the Year honors, and that’s despite Chet Holmgren also posting some big lines and helping the Oklahoma City Thunder get the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.
He’s also one of the leading candidates for Defensive Player of the Year, which is a lot to say for a first-year player.
Wembanyama is a special and unique talent.
He can do things no other player in the league can do, and the scariest part is that he’s only going to keep getting better and better as the years go by and the game slows down for him.
The Spurs need to do a better job of surrounding him with more talent, but once they get him a true point guard, the rest of the league is going to be in a lot of trouble.
