This last week has been a wild one for NBA prospect Victor Wembanyama.
The young French basketball player has been the talk of the town lately, as his star has rocketed out of the stratosphere following some amateur games in America.
He won’t be able to play in the league for an entire year but he’s already one of the most talked-about players in the world.

Wembanyama experienced a huge honor on Thursday night as he sat courtside for a preseason game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves.
Not only was he incredibly close to the game, but he was also only feet away from both LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
The two superstars greeted Wembanyama when he came to his seat, well aware of who he is and the impact he’s made.
In just one year, Wembanyama will be playing against both of these guys.
Wembanyama On His Way
At this point, there is no doubt that Wembanyama will have a future in the NBA.
In fact, there is no doubt that he will be the top draft pick in next year’s draft.
When people speak of the young player, they talk about how he could be a generational talent.
That’s a lot of pressure, of course, but Wembanyama might really have what it takes to be all of that and more.
The chances of him being drafted by the Lakers are all but non-existent.
LA won’t be landing the number-one pick and, even if they do, they owe that pick to the New Orleans Pelicans.
So Wembanyama will have an impact on the Lakers in the 2023-24 season, but it will be as an opponent.
