The Detroit Pistons are big winners this offseason for one reason.
They won the lottery and selected Cade Cunningham with the No. 1 overall pick.
A new era of Pistons basketball has begun.
Now they have to build around their new young star.
They have not had a young star in the making in such a long time.
The Pistons have been a mediocre team for several years.
They have made a few postseasons, but they have not been a really good team since 2008.
For a decade-plus, the Pistons have been a bottom tier franchise.
That is scary to think about now with the addition of Cunningham and having to make him happy.
However, he is here and they need to be prepared to orchestrate a potential great team.
The Pistons have made a couple moves, but they should make two more to help with next year’s team.
Cunningham is most likely going to be very good in his rookie year.
However, the Pistons should not put too much pressure on him.
The Pistons need to make a few more moves and here are two players that should be their targets.
2. Josh Hart
Josh Hart is not an All-Star by any means, but he is still a good role player in this league.
Hart is a solid scorer who can make his open shots.
Rebounding at the guard position is his biggest strength.
He averaged eight rebounds per game last season.
The New Orleans Pelicans still own his rights.
That means the Pistons might need to facilitate a sign-and-trade for him.
The Pelicans have extended the qualifying offer to both Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart making them restricted free agents, sources tell ESPN.

Cunningham can love playing with a guy like Hart due to his hard working manner on the court.
The Pistons can definitely use someone like him on the roster.
Also, he is only 26 years old.
He is a young veteran who knows his role on a team.
The Pistons would be smart to add him for the next couple of years to help Cunningham in the beginning stages of his career.
1. Kelly Oubre Jr.
Kelly Oubre Jr. is a super athletic player in this league.
He can simply jump out of the gym.
Also, he is a solid rebounder and defender.
Shooting is a struggle at times, but he can go on hot streaks.
Teams are looking for his services across the NBA.
“Kelly Oubre Jr. has interest in the Spurs, with his camp believing he would be a good fit in San Antonio and would flourish under Pop and the developmental staff.”

The Pistons should be one of those teams now.
Granted, they do have a young talent in Saddiq Bey, but adding Oubre would not hurt.
In fact, he would help out the team in a tremendous way.
Oubre has a tendency to go off the script, but he does know how to play his role.
Cunningham is a great passer who can run in transition with Oubre coming down with him.
The Pistons can have an exciting team with the new No.1 pick.
For years, nobody has had the Pistons on their radar.
A couple additions like the ones mentioned with Cunningham, can bring that level of attention that the Pistons have not had in some time.
