The Los Angeles Clippers began a new journey in the NBA when they acquired Kawhi Leonard and Paul George ahead of the 2019-20 NBA season.
Although the Clippers created buzz following the arrival of the dynamic duo, they have failed to accomplish anything significant during this new era.
Many have blamed the lack of competitive spirit on the roster for the Clippers’ struggles.
Keeping that in mind, head coach Tyronn Lue was recently asked if maintaining the competitive integrity of the players falls on his shoulders after suffering the 112-104 defeat against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Lue used the opportunity to send a clear message to his players, via Law Murray.
“I don’t play, they know what we’re supposed to do. So they got to do it,” Lue said.
Tyronn Lue when asked if maintaining competitive integrity falls on his shoulders:
"What do you mean, falls on my shoulders? I'm competitive. I'm ready to compete right now. … I don't play, they know what we're supposed to do. So they got to do it." pic.twitter.com/bYjIkqYWVe

Lue didn’t beat around the bush about the question.
He clearly mentioned that he is not on the court during games.
On that note, Lue mentioned that his players are aware of what they need to do on the court.
At the end of the day, the players are supposed to do their jobs.
Following the loss, the Clippers are now 42-24 in the season.
The Clippers remain the fourth seed in the Western Conference.
They are scheduled to face off against the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday night.
