The Philadelphia 76ers are on a roll.
At 8-1, they currently hold the best record in the Eastern Conference, dominating their opponents in the early stages of the 2023-2024 NBA Season.
Their most recent win was over the Indiana Pacers, who have been a surprising team to start the season.
After this victory, instead of talking about himself or making their win the focal point, Tyrese Maxey discussed his teammate, Kelly Oubre with a courtside reporter.
In a video shared via Hoop Central, Maxey said, “We praying for him,” adding, “I hope he gets well soon.”
"Man, this had nothing to do with me. This is all Kelly Oubre, man. We praying for him… Love my dawg. I hope he gets well soon."

Oubre was recently hit by a car, which is why Maxey talked about him in this manner.
He is slated to miss significant time due to injuries sustained in this accident.
Oubre started the year off strong for the 76ers, contributing in a big way for this team, and adding to their hot start.
While his on-court presence will be dearly missed, it is clear that his teammates will fight extra hard to keep winning games with Oubre in mind.
As Maxey indicates, Oubre is a beloved member of this team and a valued person in their locker room.
They will need to find ways to keep winning without him on the floor, something they were able to accomplish against the Pacers.
Fans around the NBA have joined Maxey in wishing Oubre well as he recovers from this unfortunate accident.
With any luck, he will recover quickly, and when he is medically cleared, can get back to playing the game he loves.
