Tyrese Haliburton helped his Indiana Pacers get all the way to the NBA Finals, but tragedy struck at the worst moment.
Haliburton was struck with a very serious injury at the start of Game 7 and will now probably miss all of next season.
But just because he won’t be playing on the court doesn’t mean Haliburton won’t still help his team.
Speaking on the “Pat McAfee Show,” Haliburton talked about his plans for next season.
“I haven’t even really thought about what the season will call for. I want to take this time to just keep growing my mind for the game. Being around Coach Carlisle. Sitting on coaches’ meetings. Helping at the same time, I feel like I have a pretty decent basketball mind myself. Just trying to help the guys best way I can. I’ll still be there for the majority of things,” Haliburton said.

Haliburton is obviously going to stay deeply involved with his team in 2025-26, even if he never steps foot on the court.
He wants to instill confidence and motivation in his team and will spend his time on the sidelines guiding them and rooting for them.
It sounds like head coach Rick Carlisle is going to have company by his side next season, and this could work wonders for the team’s morale.
There are many questions and concerns about the Pacers right now.
Not only will they be without Haliburton in the new year, but they also lost Myles Turner, who will be playing for the Milwaukee Bucks.
There is a good chance they will look much worse than they did last year, and it’s not clear how the fans will react to that.
But Haliburton is going to be there supporting them, even if he can’t play.
He is still obviously a very important part of the team.
