The NBA’s expansion is long overdue.
And now that people in power are finally talking about doing something about that, it’s not a secret that Las Vegas has emerged as a prime destination for a potential expansion team.
With that in mind, reporters asked Indiana Pacers star PG Tyrese Haliburton his thoughts on Las Vegas having an NBA team, to which he jokingly answered that LeBron James has talked about that over and over (Via Tim Bontemps).
Tyrese Haliburton, with a smile, on an NBA team eventually being in Las Vegas: “The guy on the Lakers talks about bringing an NBA team here every other day.”

That’s a fact.
James has been loud and clear about his desire to own an NBA team once he’s done playing, and with Las Vegas emerging as the ultimate sports market, it wouldn’t be shocking to see one of the most successful athlete-businessmen getting the nod there.
Haliburton and James both got to experience the atmosphere in Las Vegas during their wins in the In-Season Tournament, and the city has hosted a yearly Summer League for quite a while now.
They already have the Las Vegas Raiders of the NFL, Las Vegas Aces of the WNBA, Vegas Golden Knights of the NHL, and will soon welcome the Oakland Athletics in their relocation.
Also, the league and the whole sports industry have embraced the gambling industry now more than ever, so all that narrative about it being a conflict of interest is outdated.
The league has more talent now, and it could definitely afford an extension.
