After a successful stint as the offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs, Eric Bieniemy decided to move on during this NFL offseason to join Ron Rivera’s Washington Commanders coaching staff.
The Commanders were definitely a team that needed a considerable boost offensively, and adding the two-time Super Bowl champion offensive coordinator from one of the most dynamic offenses in the NFL is likely the right way to go as the team tries to turn things around in that department.
However, according to Ed Werder of ESPN, some offensive players on the Commanders have started to complain to Rivera about Bieniemy’s coaching tactics, as they believe he’s a bit too harsh.
This prompted a response from former Chiefs and current Miami Dolphins superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who defended Bieniemy and believes the harsh coaching style only makes players better, with him being a perfect example.
Man there is no other coach that has your back like EB !! Take that coaching and get better we all been through … it’s tough but I promise you it will make you better https://t.co/Nsvr3c6KFb

With Hill now comfortable in Miami as arguably one of the elite wideouts in the league, he didn’t have to say anything or defend Bieniemy, but he felt compelled to do so, as it is abundantly clear the offensive coordinator has left an impact on the perennial Pro Bowler.
The question now is whether the players in D.C. will take note of Hill’s comments and allow Bieniemy to prove his worth as the Commanders’ new offensive coordinator.
With the Commanders being one of the worst teams in the league over the last few years, they might want to think twice about complaining and embrace the coaching of someone that has led arguably the league’s best offense to two Super Bowl titles.
