The Los Angeles Clippers have been one of the NBA’s most talented teams over the last four seasons, at least on paper and when healthy, but they have little to show for it.
They have made only one trip to the Western Conference Finals during that time, and the clock is ticking on their opportunity to win their first-ever world championship.
There are perpetual injury concerns surrounding Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, the team’s two stars, but head coach Tyronn Lue says both will be ready for the start of training camp in about a month, via SiriusXM NBA Radio.

The Clippers have been the darlings of the national media ever since Leonard and George arrived in the summer of 2019, but neither have been able to stay healthy.
Leonard suffered an ACL injury during the 2021 playoffs that kept him out of the rest of that postseason and all of the following season, and he also suffered a meniscus injury that forced him to miss L.A.’s last three playoff games this past season.
George, meanwhile, hasn’t appeared in as many as 60 regular season games since coming to the team, and he missed the last few weeks of this past regular season and all five playoff games with a sprained right knee.
This coming season, the Western Conference will be stronger and more competitive, which will make the Clippers’ task of trying to win it all that much tougher.
The Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns, New Orleans Pelicans, Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs, and Memphis Grizzlies are expected to improve, while the Clippers’ roster looks largely the same as it did during the 2022-23 campaign.
