There’s a consensus among the San Francisco 49ers‘ top brass that Jimmy Garoppolo has played his final game for the franchise.
The team is actively looking for a trade partner that will have him for at least the 2022 season.
He could be a decent bridge quarterback for any team that will have him.
Speaking of bridges, two surefire Hall of Fame quarterbacks might end up playing for the team they cheered for when they were young.
Brady & Rodgers both battling to live their childhood dream out and be the 49ers QB is good NFL offseason content
— Tate Frazier (@tatefrazier) February 22, 2022
Media personality Tate Frazier shared a wild yet plausible idea wherein Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers are vying for the open position in their childhood squad.
Frazier said, “Brady & Rodgers both battling to live their childhood dream out and be the 49ers QB is good NFL offseason content.”
It’s fascinating to think even for just a while that this will come true.
Two of the game’s titans finally get to scratch another item off their bucket list by following Joe Montana or Steve Young‘s footsteps while wearing the scarlet and gold.
It may sound cliche but it’s like a Hollywood script coming true.
California Dreaming?
Football in California will feature an intense rivalry if either one of them ended up with the 49ers.
The Los Angeles Rams are the defending Super Bowl champions while the 49ers nearly played in the Super Bowl.
Don’t count out the upstart Los Angeles Chargers.
It would be an honor for Brady to play for the 49ers decades after he witnessed Montana and Dwight Clark connect for “The Catch.”
The San Mateo native would have loved to play for San Francisco but his beloved team drafted Giovanni Carmazzi in the 2000 NFL Draft.
Meanwhile, Rodgers grew up in Chico and is still admittedly a 49ers fan.
Will either one of them fulfill their California dream and lead the Niners to a Super Bowl.
How poetic that championship would be if it came true.
But the reality is Brady’s retired and Rodgers is yet to make a decision.
