The Boston Red Sox have won their last five games and eight of their last 10.
The team is streaking, which is a nice change of pace after their disastrous start.
Precisely because of that inauspicious start, the team still has a sub-.500 record, at 19-22.
But they still have plenty of time to climb out of their hole and make a push for a postseason spot.
Part of their recent revival can be attributed to the offense, but there is one particular player standing above the rest when it comes to recent production.
Trevor Story, who signed a six-year, $140 million contract after the lockout, didn’t have enough time to get his normal spring training routine.
He got off to a late start because of the delayed signing, and that ended up affecting his regular season performance in the first few weeks.
He even heard some boos from the home crowd at Fenway Park.
But now, he is red-hot at the plate.
“See how the Story continues tonight,” MLB’s official account tweeted with some of his stats in the recent four-game series against the Seattle Mariners.

His Bat Is Starting To Come Around
In the four-game set, Story hit five home runs, drove in 13 runs, hit for a .400 average, and had a 1.844 OPS.
That’s some incredible performance.
Many players hit five homers and have 13 RBI over the course of a month.
Story did it in a span of four games, over a long weekend.
The second baseman has been driving the Red Sox’s recent surge.
His season OPS is up to .748.
Over his last seven games, he is slashing .360/.452/1.120 with six homers.
It’s clear that he is starting to heat up, just in time to make things interesting in the AL East.
