Jacksonville Jaguars legend Fred Taylor just got so much closer to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
According to the Hall, he was named a modern-era finalist for the 2024 Hall of Fame class, which is why QB Trevor Lawrence took to Twitter to show him some love and respect.

Taylor spent a decade with the Jaguars from 1998 to 2008, and this is just the first time he’s made it this far.
He was among 15 finalists announced on Wednesday afternoon on the NFL Network, all after being a semifinalist five times already.
He made it to the league as the No. 9 pick in the 1998 NFL Draft, making an immediate impact and rushing for 11,695 yards and 66 touchdowns over 13 seasons.
Notably, 11,271 of those yards and 62 of his touchdowns were with the Jaguars, which is why it’s not much of a surprise to see that he continues to be the franchise’s all-time leading rusher to this day.
A signature member of the famous Pride of the Jaguars, he’s currently No. 17 on the league’s all-time rushing list, so this honor was long overdue for one of the most underrated and overlooked players we’ve ever seen.
As for his team, they’ll have two more chances to honor him on the field and secure their divisional pennant and another postseason berth, but they’ve regressed and fallen quite flat over the past five weeks or so.
