Trevor Bauer and his market have been one of the stories of the offseason in MLB.
After pitching in Japan in 2023 (with excellent results), the right-hander is determined to return to MLB.
Teams, however, haven’t been particularly open to giving him a chance mainly because of his checkered past and his recent legal issues that included sexual assault allegations.
Legally, there is nothing stopping him from pitching in the majors: the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office elected not to file criminal charges, citing a lack of evidence.
However, he was still suspended by MLB for his involvement in the case.

He said it will help him stay in shape should an MLB team call.
The Yankees, performance-wise, would actually benefit from having a talented pitcher working on a cheap deal, like Bauer is open to doing.
However, they want nothing to do with the PR nightmare that bringing in Bauer would surely bring with him.
That’s at least what they have shown so far: no interest whatsoever.
Only time will tell what the future holds for Bauer.
One thing is certain: he seems determined to return to MLB.
