Trea Turner Keeps Showing Off His Cool And Effortless Slide

MLB is much more than a home runs league.

Just like power hitters are used to admiring their home runs in style and performing wild celebrations, Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Trea Turner has his own style to “pimp” his slides.

A known base-stealer, Turner not only is speedy enough to accumulate thefts almost at will, but he also does it in style.

“Trea Turner still the coolest slider on the planet,” Talkin’ Baseball tweeted on Wednesday, when he performed one of his trademark slides to score a run and beat a throw to home plate.

Most fans like players with confidence and flair: that’s why Fernando Tatis Jr., Ronald Acuna Jr., and Shohei Ohtani are considered fan favorites.

But they also like unconventional stars with style.

Turner’s Unique Style And On-Field Contributions Make Him A True Star

Turner is a legitimate star, but his sliding style is certainly something we don’t see every day.

As fans of innovative plays, we approve, and most fans do, too.

The Dodgers infielder is having an incredible season once again, which is probably ideal since he is about to enter free agency in the fall.

Before Friday’s games, Turner is hitting .312/.361/.487 with nine home runs with 37 runs scored, 51 RBI, and 14 stolen bases.

He is capable of stealing a lot more bases, but the Dodgers probably prefer to preserve his energy for the stretch run and the playoffs.

With his style and “swagger” at the time of sliding in home plate, Turner is sure earning some more fans.

It’s what he does at the plate and on the field, however, the elements that make him a bonafide star in today’s game.
