During his playing career in the NFL, Pittsburgh Steelers legend James Harrison was one of the most intimidating defensive players in the league, and he struck fear into elite offensive players on a regular basis, including superstar tight end Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs.
On a recent episode of the New Heights podcast, Travis Kelce opened up about an experience he had with Harrison on the field that he very much regrets now.
Apparently, Travis Kelce was talking trash to Harrison during a game and immediately regretted that decision, as he told his brother Jason Kelce on their popular podcast via Matthew Luciow’s Twitter account.
“Couple quarters go by,” Travis Kelce said. “I’m looking in at the ball because it’s silent cadence. Just absolutely smoked me off the line of scrimmage. F***** up the whole play. I’m going to Alex like I don’t know what you want me to do there. I’m looking in at the ball. He’s looking at my blindside. Obviously, never talked s*** to him again.”

Travis Kelce is likely one of many who went through the same experience of getting a little too mouthy with Harrison and then realizing why he is a four-time All-Pro linebacker and a former NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
Although Harrison bounced around the league a bit during the later stages of his career in the NFL, he made his biggest impact with the Steelers and is considered to be one of the best defensive players to ever play for the franchise, with a Hall of Fame call potentially in his future.
