The Jacksonville Jaguars made a big trade to get their hands on Travis Hunter.
On paper, he’s more than worth the cost, but they will be in the spotlight for all they had to give up to acquire the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Hunter is fully confident in his ability to play both wide receiver and cornerback, and he’s not going to budge.
“I definitely think I can play [all the plays]. If I didn’t think I could play them all, I wouldn’t be trying to do it. … You gotta have the right mindset going into it. You gotta have the right knowledge. You gotta understand what you’re doing. When you’re going out there, you gotta understand how to take care of your body too,” Hunter said, via NFL on CBS.

He’s got the right mindset and approach, and he’s reportedly done a great job in training camp.
However, the concerns about him have never revolved around talent, skill or work ethic.
Hunter has a lot of mileage on his legs as a two-way player in high school and college.
Doing that in the NFL, during a 17-game regular season plus possible playoffs, will be entirely different.
The league is extremely taxing, and not everybody’s cut out to endure that type of wear and tear.
Even if it doesn’t take a long-term toll on his body and he manages to stay healthy, he might not be able to play at a superlative level on both sides of the ball.
Covering a wide receiver like Ja’Marr Chase on defense could leave him exhausted to play offense and vice versa.
There’s a good chance he can be an All-Pro at either wide receiver or cornerback, but sometimes, it’s wiser to focus on being great at one thing instead of being good at two.
