Coming into the NBA Summer League, the two main attractions all basketball fans wanted to get a look at were Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs and Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson.
Unfortunately for NBA fans, namely Blazers and Spurs fans, they’ll have to wait a little while longer to get a large sample size of what these potential superstars will look like on the hardwood at the next level with both players being rested by their respective teams.
It was already kind of a given that the Spurs would shut down Wembanyama after a couple of games as they didn’t want to risk injury considering how much basketball he’s played overseas recently, but Henderson was expected to get some run before he injured his shoulder.
It appears that Henderson’s shoulder injury was substantial enough or at least not worth the risk, as the Blazers will hold him out of the rest of the Summer League tournament, according to Aaron J. Fentress of The Oregonian.

Although it was a very small sample size for Henderson in Las Vegas, the No. 3 overall pick definitely turned some heads and showed why there was such a debate over whether the Charlotte Hornets should take him over Brandon Miller at No. 2.
Henderson finished with 15 points, six assists, and five rebounds in his lone Summer League performance in Las Vegas and that was enough to get basketball fans excited for what he might bring to Portland in the eventual post-Damian Lillard era.
