Anyone hoping to see Damian Lillard get traded to the Miami Heat soon needs to keep their expectations in check.
According to Portland Trail Blazers reporter Sean Highkin, both sides of this possible deal still haven’t discussed a Lillard trade.
Speaking on “The Rose Garden Report,” Highkin said that no progress has been made.
“[The Blazers and Heat] still haven’t talked [about a Damian Lillard trade], by the way,” Highkin said, as shared below.

It is surprising to hear Highkin say that the teams haven’t talked.
Does that mean they haven’t talked at all since the beginning of free agency or just in several weeks?
At this point, neither answer would be surprising.
The lack of progress has been the only news we have heard about the Blazers-Heat trade saga for weeks now.
Lillard has made his intentions clear: he wants to leave the Blazers for the Heat.
But the front offices of both teams can’t see eye-to-eye on this.
Some reports have said that the Blazers have been uncooperative with the Heat, and that they won’t provide them with what they want in a trade.
The Blazers want current players and future draft picks in order to even contemplate a trade.
The Heat have allegedly offered a lot, but it hasn’t been enough.
It’s very obvious that this deal may not happen.
Even though both sides want the Lillard drama to come to an end, they cannot agree on the terms.
That means that Lillard will either have to face more time in Portland or make peace with the idea of playing somewhere besides Miami.
