It’s been quite some time since superstar guard Damian Lillard said enough is enough with the Portland Trail Blazers and demanded a trade, as the NBA offseason continues to drag on with no resolution to this trade saga.
Although Lillard has made it clear that he wants to play for the Miami Heat and hopes the Blazers will eventually trade him there, it looks less and less likely that scenario will come to fruition, with the two teams not seeing eye-to-eye on a blockbuster deal.
However, there have been some other scenarios thrown out there that seem intriguing, like one with the Minnesota Timberwolves, where the Blazers would get talented big man Karl-Anthony Towns in a deal involving Lillard.
Even though that might be an appealing scenario for Lillard as he’d team up with Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert in Minnesota, it appears that the Blazers aren’t interested in trading for Towns, according to Aaron J. Fentress of The Oregonian, via NBACentral.

With the Blazers moving forward with rookie guard Scoot Henderson as the future face of the franchise, the team going after a frontcourt star player like Towns makes a lot of sense.
However, the team might not like what they see in Towns or have another position or player targeted moving forward, as Portland knows the team can potentially get a star in return for Lillard.
It’ll be interesting to see how this all pans out and whether the Blazers can trade him or wait and see what they can get at the NBA trade deadline in February.
