Winning an NBA championship might be the most difficult milestone to accomplish in professional sports.
Even so, some franchises have made a habit out of winning or at least being among the most competitive teams in the Association.
Others, however, have struggled mightily to stay afloat, barely competing and failing to make the playoffs more often than not.
With that in mind, NBA Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady put team owners on blast for not trying to win a championship, going on the record on The Pat Bev podcast to state that they don’t even care because they make most of their money on the side.

It’s hard to state that one could have an NBA team as a hobby or a side gig, but we’re talking about some of the wealthiest individuals on Earth, so that might be the case.
McGrady claimed that we’ve seen teams struggle to compete for more than a decade, adding that they should fire everyone in those offices if they’re actually trying to compete for a ring, as they’re not doing a good job.
Those are some harsh words, but they come from someone who knows the league inside and out, as he played for many organizations throughout his 15-year career.
McGrady never found success in the postseason for countless reasons and obviously could never win an NBA championship.
Moreover, it’s safe to say that he was a part of some not-so-good teams, so he must have a couple of owners in mind when he makes this assessment.
