The NBA is a league that is dominated by teams with superstar duos.
If you want to compete in the NBA, you have to have two or more stars in this era.
When looking around at the top teams in the league, all of them feature at least one All-Star/ superstar caliber player.
There are three duos that stand out from the rest.
#3: Kawhi Leonard and Paul George
The third best duo in the NBA is Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.
When this duo joined up on the LA Clippers in the 2019 offseason, they quickly became championship favorites.
They had a collapse in the playoffs, however, they are still a talented and dangerous duo.

It has only been two years since Leonard was the Finals MVP with the Toronto Raptors and George was a finalist for the regular-season MVP award.
These two are one of the best defensive duos in the league.
George is a four-time member of the NBA All-Defensive team and led the league in steals in the 2018-2019 season.
Leonard is a six-time member of the NBA All-Defensive team, the steals leader in the 2014-2015 season, and won the Defensive Player of the Year award twice.
Despite the hype for them in the 2019-2020 regular season, the Clippers had a very disappointing postseason.
They were almost knocked out in the first round of the playoffs by a depleted Dallas Mavericks team.
In the second round, they choked away a 3-1 lead against the Denver Nuggets.
If this postseason does not go the Clippers’ way this season, there is a chance that this duo could be broken up after this season.
Leonard is a free agent after this season and if he is not satisfied with his pairing with George or the state of the team, he could move on to a new team.
#2: Kevin Durant and James Harden
The second-best duo in the NBA is Kevin Durant and James Harden.
This Brooklyn Nets pair may be the best offensive pairing the NBA has seen.
Leaders in 4th Quarter Scoring this season:
– Kyrie Irving – 9.1 Points
– Kevin Durant – 8.6 Points
– James Harden – 8.3 Points
– Joel Embiid – 7.4 Points

Harden joined the team after a blockbuster trade that got him out of Houston.
Between the two, they have led the league in scoring eleven seasons.
Durant averages 27.0 points and 4.1 assists throughout his career.
While Harden averages 25.2 points and 6.5 assists during his time in the NBA.
Along with this, they combine for five seasons of averaging 30 points per game or more.
This is by far the duo with the most offensive firepower in the NBA.
With Harden and Durant at the helm, the Nets have one of the best offenses the league has ever seen.
They both played together earlier in their careers with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
In 2012, they made the NBA Finals in which they were defeated by the Miami Heat.
There is a chance that Durant and Harden meet up with LeBron James in the Finals again where they will hope to get their revenge from 2012.
#1 LeBron James and Anthony Davis
The best duo in the NBA is LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
When the Los Angeles Lakers first traded for Davis, many thought that his game would not mesh well with James’.
However, he made the necessary adjustments to his playstyle and they quickly have become the best duo in the NBA.
Both are thought of by many to be two of the top five players in the league.
Along with this, both James and Davis have been in the MVP race both years they have been together.
The duo plays incredible defense and as a result, the Lakers have been one of the best defensive teams in the league since the acquisition of Davis.
They have shown great on and off-the-court chemistry.
James and Davis are never afraid to keep each other in check while on the court.
It has been said that this results in them pushing each other to new levels that would not be possible if they were not playing together.
Off the court, Davis has made a couple of trips to LeBron’s house for his notorious Taco Tuesdays.
They are the only major superstar duo in the league that has won a ring together.
When considering that they achieved this in their first season as teammates, it makes it all the more impressive.
This could be a duo that stays atop of the league until father time eventually catches up with James.
Both Davis and James are sidelined with injuries and the Lakers have suffered from it.
There is a small chance that the Lakers will be able to pull off another first seed in the Western Conference this season.
However, once this duo returns the whole league will be put on notice.
