The Houston Texans traded their best offensive tackle this offseason, sending Laremy Tunsil to the Washington Commanders.
With that in mind, the Texans need to rebuild their offensive line with younger and cheaper talent, and may look to do so in the 2025 NFL Draft.
“Ohio State OL Donovan Jackson, one of the NFL Draft’s most versatile prospects, is visiting the Texans today, source said. … Most view Jackson as guard, but he impressed as an OT stepping in for Josh Simmons this season,” NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport wrote on X.

Jackson is projected as a second-round pick, so it would be a bit of a surprise to see the Texans use the No. 25 overall selection to get him.
However, he’s almost definitely not going to be available by the time they’re back on the clock at No. 58 overall, meaning they could give him some strong consideration in the first round.
The Texans have also been linked to Simmons at No. 25.
Replacing a player of Tunsil’s caliber will be easier said than done, and even though he struggled with penalties, he was still one of the most efficient blindside protectors in the league.
Quarterback C.J. Stroud regressed in his second season, and having him play behind a rebuilding offensive line isn’t the best recipe for a bounce-back.
The Texans have stars, but they will struggle to win if they don’t add more talent to their offensive line.
