The Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets will star in a Week 2 matchup.
And while the highly-anticipated clash won’t have Aaron Rodgers on the field, it should still be a very solid game, especially on the defensive side of the field.
That’s why Cowboys RB Tony Pollard talked about how much he was looking forward to playing against an excellent defense like the Jets’, knowing that it won’t be an easy game but stating that he wants to embrace that challenge (via Ed Werder).
“They have a great defense. You gotta look forward to those tough challenges in this sport we play.” Pollard said.

As Werder points out, the Jets’ defense was the only one with more takeaways (4) than the Cowboys in Week 1, although both of them had five sacks.
Of course, having Zach Wilson instead of Aaron Rodgers on the opposite side of the field should make things way easier for Dan Quinn, Micah Parsons, Stephon Gilmore, Trevon Diggs, and the Cowboys’ elite defensive unit, especially considering how precarious their offensive line is.
It’s not a surprise to see that the Cowboys went from 3.5-point favorites to 8.5-point favorites in the wake of Aaron Rodgers’ news, and the game total currently sits at just 38.5 points.
That speaks volumes of the projected game plan and scenario for this matchup, with Breece Hall, Dalvin Cook, and Tony Pollard as the main guys on offense, and their dominant defenses looking to force multiple turnovers.
