Tony Gonsolin was one of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ key contributors in 2022, a season in which they won 111 games and finished with the best record in all of baseball.
The 28-year-old won 16 games and posted a 2.14 ERA in 24 starts during the regular season.
Recently, the Dodgers signed the veteran right-hander to a two-year, $6.65 million contract extension that runs through the 2024 season.
The deal ensures that Gonsolin will avoid an arbitration hearing.
Late on Thursday, the star right-hander stopped by MLB Network to discuss his new contract with the Dodgers and what it ultimately means for him to have a little security for the next few seasons.

Gonsolin talked about how it felt for him to be under contract for the next two seasons and to not have to worry about arbitration, at least not until 2025.
The right-hander expressed his feelings of relief to not have to worry about the first two years of arbitration, but rather solely focus on baseball and competing.
Gonsolin was also asked about what he was able to do to have sustained success in 2022.
He responded by saying repeating his delivery allowed him to throw more strikes and be effective with all of his pitches.
He also expressed what it meant to him to not only be selected to the National League All-Star team, but to be able to do it at Dodger Stadium after an 11-0 start to the season.
Gonsolin said he hopes that this was only the first of many more to come, but that it was an honor for him to be able to experience it at Dodger Stadium.
