The National Football League is currently making millions off the sports gambling industry, but that doesn’t mean it will condone players partaking in action as well.
The league has established two clear and firm guidelines when it comes to sports betting: Don’t bet on NFL games or anything league-related, and don’t bet when at a team facility or traveling with your team; it’s as simple as that.
However, players continue to get caught breaking one or both of these rules, with Indianapolis Colts CB and kick returner Isaiah Rodgers being the latest major casualty in a league-wide gambling investigation.
That’s why Commissioner Roger Goodell reached out to perhaps the only guy who could actually get everyone’s attention, Tom Brady, to share a piece of advice to young players about gambling and playing in the league, per reporter Mike Klis.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion reportedly recorded a video shown before the league’s gambling seminars.
In the tape, Brady urges the players to remember just how privileged they are for having made it to the league and how risking it all over a couple of wagers simply isn’t worth it.
Brady adds that betting on football games hurts the integrity of the sport and the league.
The NFL is likely to lay the hammer on Rodgers, who reportedly placed over a hundred bets, including on his own team’s games.
The league will continue to crack down on this matter and will look to make an example of everyone caught breaking the rules.
