You cannot win in the NFL unless you have a good quarterback; it’s as simple as that.
The San Francisco 49ers have found out that the hard way over the years, constantly knocking on the door of the Vince Lombardi trophy but falling short despite having a stacked roster at every other position.
The same can be said of the Indianapolis Colts, a team with a stout defense and a superstar at RB, but that has failed to go the distance due to terrible QB play.
That’s why NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay believes Jim Irsay and the Colts are ready to solve this issue once and for all, predicting they’ll trade up with the Chicago Bears to land Bryce Young with the first-overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.

The Colts currently have the fourth pick, which would most likely give them a chance to get either Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud, Kentucky’s Will Levi, or Florida’s Anthony Richardson.
Nonetheless, McShay believes they’re already locked in the Alabama product, who’s drawn comparisons to Patrick Mahomes and other NFL dual-threat quarterbacks.
Young failed to lead the Crimson Tide to a National Championship as a starter, although he did win one as a backup in 2020.
He won the Heisman trophy in 2021 and is projected to be a superstar at the next level, even though there are some doubts about his size.
Of course, the Colts would have to give up plenty of value to land Chicago’s first-overall pick, so this will be a story worth following in the next few weeks.
