One of the most surprising teams in the NFL last season was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as they replaced Tom Brady with veteran journeyman Baker Mayfield and didn’t seem to have much hope of having a successful season.
However, Mayfield was able to resurrect his career while leading the Buccaneers into the NFL playoffs and defeating the Philadelphia Eagles.
Although there were questions about whether Tampa Bay could carry over its success from last season, the Bucs have again exceeded expectations, winning four of six games.
After a disappointing overtime loss to the division-rival Atlanta Falcons in Week 5 on “Monday Night Football,” the Buccaneers were able to bounce back by crushing the New Orleans Saints, putting up 51 points against another NFC South foe.
However, the status of veteran wide receiver Mike Evans is in doubt heading into Week 7 against the Baltimore Ravens.
“Bucs coach Todd Bowles said WR Mike Evans ‘tweaked’ something in his leg that had been ‘nagging’ but expects him to practice later this week,” Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times wrote on X.

The Ravens will arguably be the toughest challenge for the Buccaneers this season, with Baltimore coming into its own recently with the offense firing on all cylinders with Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry leading the way.
If Evans is ruled out, it will be devastating to the Bucs’ chances of pulling off the upset.
