The Tennessee Titans’ offensive line strategy has undergone a dramatic transformation this offseason.
After years of instability at critical positions, general manager Mike Borgonzi made his priorities crystal clear through a series of moves designed to protect the quarterback.
The latest development in this overhaul has the Titans parting with a once-promising young tackle.
“The Titans have released RT Nicholas Petit-Frere, their former third-round pick out of Ohio State who started 28 games for the team,” Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team wrote on X.

The writing had been on the wall for Petit-Frere ever since the Titans gave free agent lineman Dan Moore Jr. a four-year contract this offseason.
That acquisition triggered a domino effect across the line, pushing 2024 first-round selection JC Latham to right tackle and effectively squeezing Petit-Frere out of the starting lineup.
Selected in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Petit-Frere represented Tennessee’s latest attempt to fill the void left by Jack Conklin’s departure in 2020.
His rookie season sparked genuine optimism, but what followed was a concerning downward trajectory.
By 2024, his effectiveness had diminished significantly, resulting in multiple benchings and a career-worst 10 sacks allowed.
Complications extended beyond on-field performance, as Petit-Frere’s 2023 season was disrupted by both injuries and a suspension for violating the NFL’s gambling policy.
These setbacks only intensified questions about his long-term viability.
The financial implications of the release are substantial, freeing up salary cap space for a team continuing to reshape its roster.
