New York’s NFL landscape is currently defined by a quarterback conundrum that has fans and analysts alike searching for answers.
Both the Jets and Giants are navigating uncertain waters, desperately seeking that elusive franchise quarterback who can turn their fortunes around.
The Jets continue their experiment with Aaron Rodgers, while the Giants find themselves at a crossroads after parting ways with Daniel Jones.
Their current options seem limited to Tommy DeVito and Drew Lock, leaving much uncertainty about the future of their quarterback position.
During a recent WFAN Radio Show discussion about potential starting quarterbacks for Week 1 of 2025, former NFL running back Tiki Barber offered his prediction:
“The Giants starting quarterback in 2025, week one, Tommy DeVito.”

While Barber suggested both teams might rely on backup quarterbacks, his co-host Evan Roberts presented alternative scenarios.
Roberts proposed Jameis Winston as a potential Jets quarterback and Cam Ward for the Giants, injecting a different perspective into the ongoing quarterback debate.
The Jets face a particularly complicated situation with Aaron Rodgers. Despite his veteran status, the prospect of paying $37.5 million to a 42-year-old quarterback who hasn’t fully resolved the team’s offensive challenges seems increasingly unlikely.
The organization now stands at a critical decision point: invest in a potential franchise quarterback through the draft or opt for a more temporary solution.
Whereas, the Giants’ quarterback search has been equally challenging.
Their attempts to secure a top-three draft pick last offseason fell short, leaving them in a precarious position.
General Manager Joe Schoen and Head Coach Brian Daboll now shoulder the responsibility of charting a path forward.
