The Detroit Tigers are 46-55 and likely to sell.
The Los Angeles Angels have implied they will wait out this week to assess their trade deadline approach.
However, it’s looking likely that they could be interested in being buyers with a couple of wins this week.
They already achieved one, on Tuesday, against the Tigers.
If the 52-49 Angels decide to buy, they could definitely look for a quality pitcher or two.
Michael Lorenzen of the Tigers would be an option: he is enjoying a great season with a 3.49 record in 100.2 innings.
He will take the hill on Wednesday night against the Angels.
Speaking of Lorenzen, Angels insider Sam Blum asked him about LA and the chance to potentially come back to the team (he pitched there last year).
“Michael Lorenzen, tonight’s starting pitcher vs. LAA, said yesterday the Angels ‘have to win every game’ before Aug. 1. On if he’s thought about a trade back to the Angels, who could use pitching: ‘You guys know how I feel about being home. I don’t have to say more than that,'” Blum tweeted.

Yes, in case you were interested, Lorenzen was born in Anaheim, California.
He went to high school in Orange County and attended college at Cal State Fullerton.
He is a California guy through and through, and if the chance arises to go back home, he will surely embrace it.
It will all depend on how the Angels do this week, though.
The range of possibilities includes selling, buying, and even staying put.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the team is 3.5 games behind the Toronto Blue Jays for the last Wild Card spot in the American League.
