Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson is one of the top names in this upcoming offseason’s head-coaching cycle.
While there are a host of teams that would love to hire him, there could be one team out west that is starting to emerge as a potential suitor.
According to Raiders insider Vinny Bonsignore, “a lot of momentum” is building between Johnson and the Las Vegas Raiders.

In a time when Tom Brady is now the minority owner of the Raiders and with the team holding onto the No. 6 pick in the NFL Draft, the hunger to win is big in Sin City.
Johnson is responsible for producing arguably the best offense in the entire NFL.
The Lions finished the 2024 regular season ranked first in scoring offense and are an absolute juggernaut.
If Vegas could hire Johnson and have the team draft a talented quarterback like Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward, look out.
Also, it isn’t as if there are a ton of expectations with the way the Raiders’ roster is right now.
The team has made the playoffs just twice in the last 22 seasons, so the head coach who is hired will likely be paid with house money.
Considering the current state of each franchise, there seems to be way more pressure on a job like Chicago or Dallas.
If the Raiders got Johnson, it could be a massive win for both parties involved.
