The Las Vegas Raiders entered offseason workouts thinking they had their quarterback of the future.
They agreed to a three-year deal with Jimmy Garoppolo to take over the reins.
But now Garoppolo’s future with the Raiders looks murky.
Last season he suffered a foot injury that required surgery.
Before signing with the Raiders, Garoppolo failed his physical due to that injury.
To protect themselves, the Raiders added a waiver to his contract in which he had to pass a physical before the Raiders pay him anything.
According to 49ers on NBCS, Garoppolo could be released if he does not pass his physical.
A reported clause in Jimmy G's Raiders contract could lead to the QB's release if he isn't healthy by the season's starthttps://t.co/AodHXxTi6y

Garoppolo has had injury concerns his whole career.
Every year he has missed time due to injury.
It was smart of the Raiders to protect themselves knowing the injury history of Garoppolo.
This will be a situation worth monitoring for the rest of the offseason.
If Garoppolo is not the Raiders quarterback to start next season they could be in some trouble.
They play in one of the toughest divisions in football and will most likely have an undesired quarterback.
The two backups on the Raiders are Brian Hoyer and Aidan O’Connell.
Hoyer is a long-term backup while O’Connell was their fourth-round draft pick.
The current free-agent quarterbacks are nothing that should pique the Raiders’ interest.
They hope Garoppolo will eventually pass his physical and be their quarterback.
If not, this has the looks of a team that could be competing for the number one pick.
