There Is A Growing Belief About Jimmy Butler’s Future With Heat

For the last few weeks, the NBA has been consumed by rumors about Jimmy Butler leaving the Miami Heat.

At times, it’s felt inevitable, but perhaps that isn’t actually the case.

According to Bobby Marks, per NBACentral, there is now “a growing belief that the Miami Heat will not trade Jimmy Butler.”

Marks wrote:

“…As for Butler’s future, there is a growing consensus among the teams I talked to that unless the six-time All-Star becomes a distraction, or the Heat receive a trade offer they cannot turn down, Butler will be on the Heat’s roster once the deadline passes.”

This may end up being much ado about nothing, which would be quite surprising considering how much speculation has surrounded Butler’s future.

The Heat will make a move if they receive a great offer or if Butler starts to make public noise about wanting to leave the team.

But if things continue to be cordial and a blockbuster offer doesn’t come in, Butler might remain in Miami.

There are several teams reportedly tied to Butler, notably the Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors.

However, neither of those teams is moving quickly or aggressively to trade for the star player.

Instead, they are weighing their options as the trade deadline approaches.

There seems to be a lack of urgency to make a deal for Butler happen, which could be a sign of him sticking around in Miami.

If Butler remains, the Heat may take a look at trading him again this summer.

Until then, they could benefit from his 18.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game.
