The Chicago White Sox‘s managerial position is open at the moment.
Tony La Russa is stepping aside to focus on his health and rest.
Despite an unsuccessful 81-81 season that saw them finish 11 games behind the AL Central winners, the Cleveland Guardians, the White Sox position has some appeal.
There is a strong core of position players and pitchers in place to contend for the playoffs next year under the right guidance.
Before thinking about any player additions, the franchise would love to name a new manager.
Ownership and the front office are currently in the process of interviewing candidates, and a familiar name popped up.
Ozzie Guillen who already led the franchise in the 2000s, is being interviewed.

Guillen Brought Glory Back To Chicago: Will The White Sox Consider Him?
White Sox fans remember Guillen for being the manager who led them to their first World Series title in decades, back in 2005.
He has an aggressive, small-ball style and has proven he can win in the past.
Earlier in October, Guillen spoke about the possibility of him returning to lead the White Sox.
“It is not in my plans. I don’t know if it is in the White Sox’s plans. Even if they think I can help them for next year, I’m very open to listening to it,” he told NBC Sports Chicago.
“Let me be cocky: Nobody in baseball knows this ballclub better than Ozzie Guillén,” he stated, and it actually isn’t far from the truth.
He played for the White Sox from 1985 to 1997, and managed them from 2004 to 2011.
He is certainly a candidate of the house.
Will the White Sox be willing to give him a second chance?
