The Chicago White Sox have re-emerged as a contender after a tough start to the season.
With their recent hot streak, they have found themselves right in the thick of the American League Central division race, just one game back of the first-place Cleveland Guardians.
They have been hot for the past five weeks and are now tied for the most wins in the AL in that span.
Ironically though, they’re tied with the team they’re trying to chase, that team being the Guardians.
Both the White Sox and Guardians have won 20 games over the past five weeks and are neck and neck in the AL Central.
Last 5 weeks, most wins (AL)
White Sox 20
Guardians 20
Astros 19
Mariners 18
Orioles 18
Blue Jays 16
Rays 16— Jay Cuda (@JayCuda) August 17, 2022

This division race is going to be fun to watch down the stretch.
The Minnesota Twins have led the AL Central for the vast majority of the season, but both the White Sox and the Guardians have come alive here recently.
Cleveland is now at the top and the White Sox are coming in hot as they try to defend their AL Central crown from a year ago.
It’s a three-horse race in the Central, but it’s looking like it might come down to the South Siders and the Guardians, especially if both teams stay hot.
The Twins have seemingly tapered off just a bit, despite having won their previous two games.
But when two teams in the same division are this hot, that means that the race is likely going to come right down to the wire.
The White Sox may be hot, but you can’t sleep on the Guardians, or even the Twins.
There’s a lot of time left and a lot of great baseball coming.
