The Golden State Warriors couldn’t defend their crown as NBA champions this season, but that might be just one of many problems coming their way.
Steve Kerr’s team could also lose one of the main men responsible for their success, as GM Bob Myers could walk away in the offseason.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, there have been no substantial contract extension talks between both parties and the team could be bracing themselves for a new era in the front office.
Sources: Warriors and president of basketball operations Bob Myers have had no substantial contract extension talks in months and the sides are bracing for the likelihood that Myers could walk away from the franchise.

Notably, Myers should have no shortage of very lucrative offers sitting on his table.
He’s the architect behind one of the most dominant teams of all time, and there should be more than enough teams looking to add someone to try and replicate the Dubs’ formula.
Moreover, this could be the beginning of the end for the Warriors’ dynasty, as several players are entering key points in their contracts.
The Warriors intend to discuss a new deal with Klay Thompson, and they reportedly want him to take a pay cut, and the same could be for Draymond Green.
However, there’s no real incentive for either player to do that, as this might be the final lucrative deal of their careers, and it’s not like they haven’t won anything and need to get another ring to salvage their legacies.
Usually, teams fall apart when they lose one or two key players, but Myers’ value within the organization has gone beyond measure.
