Before veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins went down with a season-ending Achilles injury, the Minnesota Vikings were one of the hottest teams in the league, as it seemed as though the team had started to figure things out and were ready to go on a run in the second half of the 2023 campaign.
After Cousins was ruled out for the season, many believed that the Vikings would come back down to earth and eventually see their playoff hopes disappear.
Fortunately, the team was able to make a trade with the Arizona Cardinals to bring in Joshua Dobbs, who was headed to the bench once Kyler Murray was healthy enough to get back on the field.
Dobbs embraced his new opportunity and immediately led the Vikings to a fourth straight win in his first game with the team, which he followed up with another win against the New Orleans Saints.
Minnesota has now won five games in a row, giving the Vikings a record of 6-4 moving forward via the NFL’s Twitter account.

Dobbs had another solid performance on Sunday as he threw for 268 yards and one touchdown with zero interceptions while also rushing for 44 yards and a touchdown.
Even though losing Cousins was costly for the Vikings, Dobbs appears to be shouldering the load while making his case to be a starter in this league after this season, whether it be in Minnesota or elsewhere.
If the Vikings can stay hot moving forward, especially with superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson on the verge of his return, clinching a playoff spot in the NFC isn’t beyond the realm of possibility.
