The Minnesota Vikings made one of the easiest decisions in franchise history on Tuesday.
One player that will be a cornerstone for the Vikings for many years to come is wide receiver Justin Jefferson.
Ever since being drafted by the Vikings in the 2020 draft, Jefferson has been elite.
He has made the Pro Bowl each year and has been an All-Pro twice.
According to Ian Rapoport, the Vikings picked up the fifth-year option on their star wide receiver.
The #Vikings have officially exercised the fifth-year option for star WR Justin Jefferson, source said, perhaps the biggest no-brainer on earth (only slight hyperbole).

This means Jefferson will be under contract with the Vikings for the next two years.
But, the Vikings want to make sure he is under contract much longer than that.
Jefferson is due for an extension at any point, and he will most likely be the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL.
His impact on their offense has been immense, and he is only going to be 24 years old next season.
Despite making the playoffs last year, the Vikings floundered in the first round to the New York Giants.
There have even been some talks that the Vikings may be looking for a new quarterback.
While Kirk Cousins is good, he has seemingly hit his ceiling in Minnesota.
It would not be a surprise to see the Vikings take a quarterback high in the upcoming draft.
One name to keep an eye on for them is Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker.
He could be the pick for the Vikings at 23rd overall.
Whoever is quarterbacking the Vikings next year should be happy to know they get to throw to Jefferson.
