The Detroit Tigers have been an interesting team to watch this season.
Last year, the team lost 96 games and fell well short of the postseason.
However, things are looking a little bit better in Motown this season.
Detroit has won six of their last 10 games and now sit just 3.5 games back of the first-place Minnesota Twins in a weak AL Central division.
The Tigers are 19-21 and sit in second place.
But things didn’t start off great for the Tigers this year.
They were 2-9 after their first 11 games.
On Twitter, Jon Morosi of MLB Network took note of how much the Tigers have improved since then.
After an April 12 loss, the @Tigers were 2-9, the worst record in @MLB.
Since then — more than one month of baseball — Detroit is 17-12, the best record in the AL Central.
Playoff odds are up to 8.3%, per @baseball_ref.@MLBNetwork @BallySportsDET

When the Tigers were 2-9, they had the worst record in all of Major League Baseball.
However, they have played much better as of late, posting a 17-12 record since their disastrous start, which is the best mark of any team in the AL Central.
The Tigers’ playoff odds are also up to 8.3 percent since then, according to Baseball Reference.
Those odds aren’t great, but the Tigers have taken significant steps in the right direction this season and could end up being a surprise contender in the American League after having missed the postseason in eight consecutive seasons.
Young stars such as Riley Greene and Spencer Torkelson have performed well.
They also have received some much-needed help on the pitching side from left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez.
Detroit may be a team to look out for as the season progresses.
They have already swept the New York Mets and are keeping pace with the Twins in the AL Central.
