The NBA coaching carousel will continue it’s course after another somewhat surprising string of dismissals.
The Phoenix Suns are officially in the market for a new coach after parting ways with Monty Willams, and that could lead to a bit of an interesting turn of events.
According to Chris Haynes, they’re reportedly considering former Milwaukee Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer as their new boss.
Phoenix Suns are formulating a list of head coaching candidates that includes assistant Kevin Young, Mike Budenholzer and Nick Nurse, league sources tell @NBAonTNT, @BleacherReport.

The funny part is that the Bucks are reportedly looking at Monty Williams for their coaching vacancy, so they would pretty much just swap coaches.
Moreover, Budenholzer actually beat Williams in the NBA Finals just a couple of years ago, all but making it a little more ironic.
Haynes adds that assistant coach Kevin Young is also one of the team’s primary candidates alongside former Toronto Raptors coach Nick Nurse.
The report also states that the Suns’ vacancy will gauge plenty of interest around the league, so many more candidates are expected to draw consideration in the next couple of weeks.
No coach in the league has won more games than Williams since the 2021 season, and he was named the league’s Coach of the Year just last season.
Budenholzer’s situation was similar, and it just proves how ruthless the sports industry is.
It doesn’t matter how much you’ve accomplished or how good you’ve been in the past couple of years.
There’s no time to be grateful or give anyone the benefit of the doubt, especially when you have a roster that’s built to win an NBA championship right now.NEXT: NBA Insider Details How Suns GM Role Has Been Diminished
