With the 2023 NFL Draft already in the record books, there aren’t that many star players available for teams to try and round up their rosters.
Even so, there’s still plenty of talent floating around; it’s just a matter of knowing where to look.
With that in mind, the Pittsburgh Steelers have reportedly signed former XFL wide receiver Hakeem Butler to their 90-man roster, according to NFL insider Ari Meirov.
The #Steelers are signing WR Hakeem Butler, who plated for the XFL's St. Louis Battlehawks and put up 51 receptions for 599 yards and a league-best 8 TDs. Back in the NFL after a successful run in the XFL.

Notably, Butler is coming off a solid season for the St. Louis Battlehawks, hauling in 51 receptions for 599 yards and a league-best eight receiving touchdowns.
He was a fourth-round pick by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2019 NFL Draft, but he failed to make an appearance with the team and was released before the start of his second season.
He later took his talents to the Carolina Panthers and joined their practice squad but failed to get a promotion.
The Philadelphia Eagles signed him and converted him to tight end.
He did make his NFL debut with the Eagles but was cut before being able to make a single catch.
Butler bounced around and played for both the BC Lions and Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League before his breakout season in the XFL.
The 26-year-old wasn’t able to be in attendance for rookie minicamp as he wasn’t signed yet, but he’ll reportedly join the team in OTAs and minicamp.
