The Pittsburgh Steelers finished the 2022 season with a 9-8 record, continuing Mike Tomlin’s streak of non-losing seasons.
Throughout the years, the Steelers have been highly touted for their defense, often making up for sub-par offensive play.
To bulk up their defense for the 2023 campaign, the Steelers are meeting with Markus Golden, per Jordan Schultz.
Markus Golden is visiting the #Steelers today, sources tell @theScore.
The veteran pass rusher has recorded three seasons with at least 10 sacks. He also racked up 4 FF during the 2021 season with the #AZCardinals.

Golden is an eight-year NFL veteran and has spent the last 2.5 years with the Arizona Cardinals.
He began his career with the Cardinals, and had a stint with the New York Giants, before going back to the Cardinals.
Last season, Golden totaled 45 tackles and 2.5 sacks, but had 11 sacks in 2021.
He provided great value to the Cardinals and will look to do the same for his next team.
The Steelers, or any team for that matter, could use an additional piece on their defensive line.
Having depth on defense is paramount, especially considering the number of injuries that happen throughout an NFL season.
Even if Golden is used as a depth piece, he should be able to find a spot on a roster, either on the Steelers, or another team.
He is 32 years old, and seemingly nearing the end of his time in the NFL.
However, if recent deals are any indication, teams have been willing to sign older players who can provide a sense of stability to a locker room.
As the Steelers look to grow and develop their young stars, will they make room for Golden on their roster?
With the AFC North becoming increasingly competitive, they can seemingly use all the help they can get.
