The Texas Rangers finished 60-102 in 2021 and are thus an easily forgettable team this MLB offseason.
Well, that was the case until the end of November.
The Rangers are officially breaking MLB Twitter by making big signing after big signing.
First was a seven-year, $175 million deal for Marcus Semien.
Just when it seemed like that would be the highlight of the team’s offseason, which it very well could have been, the Rangers front office signed one of the game’s top shortstops to a mind-boggling deal.
BREAKING: Star shortstop Corey Seager and the Texas Rangers are in agreement on a 10-year, $325 million deal, sources familiar with the situation tell ESPN.

Corey Seager is headed to Texas with Semien to instantly form one of the top infield duos in all of baseball.
All it cost the club was over $500 million in the span of a few days.
Ready To Compete
Who would have thought the Rangers would dominate MLB free agency?
This is a team that has not made the postseason since 2016.
A rebuild seemed to be in order, but ownership decided to expedite the process by spending big to land top talent.
The Rangers also signed veteran pitcher Jon Gray to a deal worth $56 million.
Jon Gray will get $56 million over four years from Texas, pending a physical, according to a source.

MLB teams are rushing to sign deals before the expected lockout begins on December 1.
The Rangers have now completed a full offseason worth of acquisitions and we are not even to December yet.
It almost feels like NBA free agency where chaos reigns for the span of a few days.
And the Rangers may not even be done spending.
They may just have to wait a few months to pick up where they left off given the impending work stoppage.
Spending this money does not automatically mean the Rangers are going to go from worst-to-first in a competitive American League West division.
But signing Semien and Seager for so long means the Rangers have a long-term contention goal in mind.
That has to have fans thrilled after a recent stretch featuring so much losing.
